How to Test Your Website on Mobile

Most of your visitors are on a phone, often with an imperfect connection. Here’s how to test your own site the way they actually experience it, not the way it looks on your office wifi.

1. Switch to Mobile Data

Turn off wifi on your phone before opening your site. This is the connection speed most of your visitors are actually using.

2. Try to Reach Your Booking Page in Two Taps

From your homepage, time how many taps it takes to reach your booking or contact page. More than two is worth fixing.

3. Check Buttons and Forms Without Zooming

Try tapping every button and filling in your contact form without pinching to zoom first. If you need to zoom to tap accurately, so does your visitor.

4. Check Photo Load Time

Open your gallery or homepage photos on mobile data and time how long they take to appear. Noticeably slower than on wifi is a sign your images aren’t optimised for mobile.

5. What To Do If Something Fails

None of these require a redesign to fix. If one or more of these steps failed, that’s a specific, contained fix, exactly what a Website Care Service session covers.
